This review will be spoiler free with little context, but this is my experience.
If you enjoy cutscenes this is the game for you. The number of cutscenes in this game far surpass the amount needed for this poorly put together story. If that's not enough, I hope you enjoy a cutscene being followed by 10 seconds of gameplay to meet another cutscene.
I personally reached the point to where I was skipping the main story missions dialog for this game. The amount of time I felt I wasted watching the story, which quite frankly felt like it had a lot of forced interactions, was disgusting. The love story is completely forced until 75% of the way through the game, via PS5 tracking game progress.
Traveling across the map feels like a casual stroll across all areas of the game also hurts this game. You eventually unlock a better means of travel in a "Side Mission." Though, that "better" means of travel results in either bypassing all minor fights or a headache to engage in multiple comabts. The overall ability to traverse the map is a 1/5 in my book.
Now for the only redeeming quality in this game, the combat. If the game had stronger points across the board it would be a fantastic game, but luckily it still has it's combat. The combat is fluid, is easily customized to match your liking, and is constantly evolving throughout the game. The biggest issue is the restricted amount of customization giving this category a 3.5/5 in my book.
I cannot recommend this game to my worst enemies. If you feel you must play it, wait until it is on sale is the only advice I can give you.
