More than that- it depicts life on the road in general and what that life can do to a person's sense of self, motivation, promotion, and relationships. Payday follows a classic tragic arc: hubris followed by nemesis and personal flaws magnified by circumstances until the inevitable conclusion. Fast-paced and emotionally engaging. Rip Torn is a very underrated actor.
