I really want to love this movie. I grew up being such a huge sci-fan being introduced to this world by Aliens with the legendary Sigourney Weaver. Then, we didn’t have the special effects and CGI and relied on the story. Now we rely on the CGI and we don’t have a story and it’s brutal. Prequel Star Wars I.M.O was the best of both worlds including other fantasy like the Lord of the Rings trilogy (early 2000s). I get what Ridley Scott is trying to do. He wants a “Star Wars” that everyone else wants besides the same story on repeat for the last 40 years and I’m here for it. However, this shouldn’t have been a movie. It should have been a series and less money spent on CGI (which you can tell where they cut corners) and more money on writing. The cast for the most part has some really huge names but the character development is so unbelievably poor and the plot is incredible predictable it becomes very boring very quickly. The protagonist “Kora” (which I’m not sure how this is possible) is an even more annoying and less relatable version of Rey from the new Star Wars. J.F.C And as I’m watching this currently toward the end, it has the Warhammer 40k cybernetic themes which are done very poorly just completely out of the blue. This movie is a mess save yourself the time. Scott, stop going to notoriously politically correct productions and spend more money on your writers.
