Watching without having kids or losing a partner in the way he did, it is hard to truly value the pain associated to either of those. Though I lack these experiences, Kevin conveys the emotions exquisitely. Love, loss, and learning are all things we go through but the timeline the film goes on completely highlights the grip each stage has on us. I cringe watching him fail, cry watching him grow, and laugh watching him learn. Relating to his characters childhood, it was easy to recognize the example he wanted to set for her, and the habits, beliefs, and upright attitudes he wanted to show her. Wonderful film.
