Absolutely brilliant, the intro explains in a way that this is "from nothing" (From zero).
Then you go into the lofi drums and brilliant slower production opening up the emptiness machine. The emptiness machine serves multiple purposes, introducing Emily, stacking up to being an amazing song, and meaningful lyrics. Plus the music video is also really good, you have audio visualizers and or music videos for every track and I highly suggest listening to the whole album with the visuals as they enhance the experience and all the visuals and art for this album is amazing and amplifies the listen.
Anyways you then go into cut the bridge, think of this as modern day bleed it out if the rapping was better, the song was less sloppy and the chorus was just as catchy but in a just generally better song. The song has basically been looping through my head.
Then heavy is the crown hits you with the faint like beat and the meteora like rapping. The chorus is amazing and catchy and you get a super long scream.
Over each other is like a one more light song if it was better than all the one more light songs. It never quite gets heavy but it feels like it's on the edge of getting heavy the whole time. The song itself gets better with each listen and the lyrics paired with the music video makes for an emotional song.
Casualty gets really heavy, its probably either their second or first heaviest song they've ever made. The screaming is some of the best and the fact that Mike has grit in his voice actually works for some reason. The part where it slows down just to get heavy again is genius and this song will have any metal head energized and head bobbing so hard their hair is gonna be all over the place.
After that overflow plays, its a slower almost surreal song. It does something that I can't put my finger on that makes it feel special.
Two faced was the best of the singles, the catch chorus, the turntable scratches, the bridge, the guitar riff, everything screams hybrid theory and if it was on hybrid theory it would be one of the better songs on the album.
Stained has a more poppy feel to it but that's not a bad thing, this whole album may have some crazy screaming and metal riffs but at the core the reason its so different is because its also hip-hop and pop so it doesn't bother me.
IGYEIH is my personal favorite song off the album. More great screaming, more great breakdowns and another amazing guitar riff with more amazing verses and choruses. Two faced would be the best track if it weren't for this song.
Good things go is surreal, you end with the same noise the album started on and Emily's voice here might give goosebumps. This is the best closer since numb and it can't help but leave you satisfied.
Overall every song has something going for it and I don't skip any of the songs. I do wish it was longer as its only thirty minutes. It's a good new set of tracks for the discography and it feels symbolic for new beginnings for the band. Might just be album of the year!
