We have really liked this show as it's a sweet, funny, family show (for the most part) and has an interesting Afghan storyline. However, the episode we saw last night (S02 E21 Desire/Khwast) where Al is failing his class, was very disappointing. It was as if the writers had totally changed and the new writers aren't interested in Al's culture shock or the ability to laugh at our North American foibles--which is what made the show funny!!!! We felt this was one of the best comedy shows around and now it's not.
