I had high hopes for this film, especially with the introduction of a new evil ghost that promised to inject fresh energy into the series. However, this new antagonist turned out to be nothing more than a fleeting shadow, making no real impact. From the sluggish start to the disappointing end, the movie failed to engage, dragging on without delivering any payoff. The over-reliance on nostalgia from the original 80s movies, particularly with the repetitive use of familiar elements like the marshmallow ghosts, only highlighted the lack of innovation, turning what could have been a celebration of the old into a stale rehash.
Despite the presence of talented actors, their potential was squandered by a script that offered little room for them to shine, rendering their efforts almost meaningless. The story, repetitive and uninspired, left me disconnected and unimpressed. In the end, the film’s reliance on past glories couldn’t mask its fundamental flaws, making it a disappointing experience. As the credits rolled, it became clear that this movie, despite its potential, was a missed opportunity—a stark reminder that not all ghosts are worth chasing.
