This story could have been a fantastic work of spy novel fiction, but the fact it really happened—and the tragedy of what Sergei Magnitsky endured and then what the Russian establishment did to try to cover it up—makes it also a very important read. The way Mr.Browder frequently touts his wealth and connections is pretty annoying, but it is nevertheless an important tale and his writing style keeps the story moving along. I have also read Red Notice, and if you are planning to read both it would make more sense to read Red Notice first. There is overlap in the stories but their focuses are unique to each book. I strongly recommend both books for anyone interested in the details of foreign affairs and the reality of our world.
