There seems to be some kind of mass hysteria regarding this film. It was interesting, the score was great (actually the best part of it in fact). There was some good acting, yes, but it’s NOT a great film, it doesn’t reveal any new aspect to historical events and it certainly didn’t need to be more than 2 hours long. The timeline chopping and changing wasn’t helpful and so by the end I was left wondering what was the point. Looking back the day after seeing it I realised that it was in fact dull with the exception of the score. The gratuitous sex scenes were almost laughable and the long stares and moody dialogue were strained and didn’t add to the ‘story’. The most interesting detail was the building of the site.
