Young people who were saved during this time and place in history ended up coming to my hometown (Savannah, Georgia) and starting a communal house similar to the one portrayed in the movie. That was the place God used to draw me to himself. Just as in the movie, the people were imperfect and had shallow Bible preparation but were zealous to spread the Gospel. For those who came to this movie expecting something different, I would say this movie depicts accurately what happened in that place and time. God graciously used people like Greg and Cathe to preach to teenage me, and then He was faithful to bring me to deeper knowledge of the Bible and guide me the rest of my life. I look at those newly-converted believers as EMTs at a car wreck- they saved my life at the scene and then took me to where I got more care (my present PCA church). So let's be careful not to be too critical and instead pray for the same kind of zeal and love for the lost.
