I have a mix feeling when watch this. I used to watch like watching Julie Delpy's movies from Detective (Godard) to Before Midnight (Richard Linklater) even her directed movie Skylab but this one kinda disappointed.
I found the characterisation is not solid. I always thought women in their 50s which I assumed had experiences in life should be more wise and emotionally stable. This series didn't describe it at all. What I see is totally opposite which is sad. I felt embarrassed somehow it created by women that they should know it better how women are like.
Well I hope Julie Delpy could learn and listen from the minority reviews to improve on writing storyline and character development more. Sometimes Julie, what you see is not what you actually think. Take your time to write a screenplay Julie, don't be rush.
Add: I support feminism when my friend told me it's about that I was very expecting it but somehow this is far from what feminism has to be.
