Brain on Fire is something I can relate to over my own brain problems. Mine were caused by several head injuries over time, but my worst is when I was struck by a freight train in my car. Oddly enough I survived, after seeing 2 well known men get completely destroyed by the same train when I was 9 yrs old.
I was 17 when I got hit and it didnt drastically affect me until I was 50. I was driving again and suddenly I lost everything in my mind. I didn't know who I, who anyone was, where I was, what I was doing or why.
I was lost, then I was having stabbing pains in the top left side of my head. Later it would be called Lightning Brain by Sharon Stone.
However she didn't lose her memory first, like I have. Since 2007 I've gained somewhat less than than half of it back.
I can't work anymore, due to also having short term memory problems and ongoing Lightning Brain. None that can be corrected since there's very little known about them. I'm 67 yrs old now and I'm not interested in being a surgical Guinea pig, after having a finger removed experimentally 30 yrs ago and it was a success. But we're talking about my brain now and I'm not willing to have it cut up for scientists to learn anything.
My reason for telling my story, as much as I can remember that I have already wrote down, is for you Sussannah to know that you're not alone in problems with your brain. I'm so glad you could get help with your problem. And this is for anyone else that is or will suffer what I have and hopefully they can get help before they get my age. Mine is still considered Rare my friend Sussannah, I wish I could have met you in person before I pass, that would be something very special to me.
Live well my friend.
