If you've enjoyed the previous Hot Shots Golf/Everybody's Golf games, This is definitely a must buy! For those a bit confused by the naming, in North America the games are known as Hot Shot's Golf, and in Japan they were known as Everybody's Golf. The most recent Sony version of the game however, is known as Everybody's Golf globally for the first time. Now, developer Clap Hanz has made it's first golf game for a non Sony console, originally called Clap Hanz Golf for the iOS/Android. Keeping up with the multi name tradition, they chose the name Easy Come Easy Golf for their Switch release of the exact same game!
Now onto the game itself! This brings a entirely new type of strategy and tactical gameplay and mindfulness to the golf genre! At first you may be confused. You start out with 3 golfers and 6 'mini golfers' whom are basically there as filler as you unlock more golfers. But don't worry, you'll be up to a full set of 9 golfers before you know it, and eventually have many more to pick from and strategize with! You play 1 golfer for each hole. This is where that really comes into play, as you decide which golfers are best for which holes depending on various things.
There are a few things that previous games had that this game does not, like the item shop type things that we saw in the PSP Open Tee games and PS3's World Invitational. Instead, you unlock various outfits for your golfers in a manner more similar to the PS3's Out of Bounds game. There also is a fun option that allows you to shrink or grow all of the character's entire bodies, or just their heads! Want them all to be tiny? Want one of them to be huge? Definitely a first time option for these games!
All in all, this is very worth buying for $20 even if you never play online. The single player tour is definitely a relaxing experience that gets more and more challenging over time as with all the other games. It's not quite as difficult as some of the previous games but after playing through World Invitational for all the crowns, I'd say that's a good thing. They also could have done a little better job with some of the character designs. I feel like in some ways however, this is just my personal preference and some people will actually like this roster better! Rather than the typical 'let's make a bunch of attractive female golfers, some strong guys, and throw some goofy ones in' they have much more variety here. So that may sound perfect to some and be a disappointment to others who really liked the idea of playing a golf game with a sexy character all the time. After all, you play with a team for many of the game modes anyways, but there are solo golfer game modes as well. There still are a few of those type of characters in this game for sure though! As a lifetime player of this series, I'd rate this game right around 90% for a golf game and put it in the top 5 games ever in the 25 year running golf series!
