A beautiful and moving book. It depicts the loss and grief of gradually losing a loved one to dementia and also cleverly explores that person's history and other tragedies of lost innocence and the consequences of an illegitimate birth. Delicately and sensitively written, it was reminiscent of Tess of the D'urbevilles in parts.

Dark, bleak, squallid, what's not to like?!? Dazzled and disturbed by this extremely original, quirky and compelling movie.
