Yet again i'm having to post my review, I can't abide censorship of this kind, my review is genuine, every time its removed I will copy and paste this. Anyway, my main issue is the writing, did no one check over it? Time, space and distance aren't a thing in ROP, theres pacing issues, horrible dialogue, and the problem with the god awful writing is with that is then I end up nit picking everything else and it snowballs. Now the lore ... there is none, so much has been fundamentally changed that I barely recognise anything that Tolkien wrote apart from names and places. Yes changes happen to an adaptation, LOTR changed loads but as the writing was amazing no one cared, i'm just struggling to find similarities to the source material what so ever and as a Tolkien fan thats disappointing on every level. The plus points are the music, the CGI, Khazad Dum and Numenor. Overall its a 2.5/10 for me. This series should have been easy to make and print them money, yet Amazon had to hire directors with one terrible film to their name who only wanted to make it in their image and it shows. More that disappointed, the disrespect for Tolkien is shocking.
