An unnecessary revision of a classic movie. Most of the songs and dance sequences were either mediocre or simply odd and drained the story of its emotional punch. Finally, while the actors were fine, no one can compete with Whoopi Goldberg or Oprah Winfrey who were simply marvelous in the original film. My advice...watch the original and give thus musical a miss
