Wow! I could not put this book down. And when I wasn’t reading it because I had to do such mundane things as prepared dinner or fold laundry, I kept wondering what Frankie was up to. The frenetic pace of this book was perfect for the times Kristin was capturing. Her vivid descriptions of the war zones, as well as the OR scenes, were captivating and made me feel as though I were in the midst of that horrible war. I was tear-eyed as I read the struggles of Frankie while in Vietnam, but also once she was home and back in a country that did not recognize the heroic effort of hundreds of thousands. I highly recommend this book. I think it is Kristin’s best yet.
