A laughably stupid game that continues to coast on its visuals and a lack of competition. Anyone who watches/understands the slightest bit of actual basketball will be pulling their hair out in minutes. The skill ratings, the AI lineup and trade/roster decisions, the way the AI players behave, all terrible. AI players will do things consistently that they’ve never once done in real life, and in between those incidents they’ll spam 3-pointers off screens with guys who shouldn’t be able to shoot but inexplicably have an 80+ rating. God help you if a player who made an All Star team in 2015 makes his first shot, the 2K team seem stuck in the past with how they rate veteran players. In a yearly game series full of frustrating failures to improve, let alone evolve, this iteration stands out for how profoundly dumb it is on a very fundamental level.
