The movie exceeded my expectations. I loved the first movie, and this one was a worthy sequel. I laughed, cried, and cheered for Maverick and for Goose's son, and I applaud Val Kilmer's courageous and heartrending performance. Tom Cruise never disappoints, but this movie does far more than entertain; watching it is like reuniting with a long-lost love. It felt like coming home. So many movies today belabor us with special effects and non-stop action without offering any plot development or depth of character, but this film delivers it all. Go and enjoy. This is how movies used to be made.
