Unlikeable, poorly written and acted characters make it incredibly hard to stay invested in the plot, which is generic, badly paced, and jumps around more than a crack addled kangaroo.
The CGI is bad enough to ruin your suspension of disbelief and take you out of the moment, assuming you were in the moment to begin with. It's clear they spent all their budget animating the scenes with godzilla in them, who appears for a total of roughly five minutes during the entire season.
