I love "The Turkish Detective"!!! Please let's see a series 2. How often do we get to go to modern Turkey and hang out with all these quirky characters? Never. It is always about terrorism or something really depressing and stereotypically horrific about the Middle East, isn't it? This show is not just a "cozy British detective series". It is really unique mostly due to this Haluk Bilginer. He has something really charismatic. Also the rest of the cast is interesting, and with the backdrop of Istanbul it is marvelous. A series 2 of The Turkish Detective, please.

I was actually sad to see Forest Whitaker, one of our greatest actors, in such a weird series. The scenes are full of shots where nothing is happening, that are held interminably. The plot moves really slowly, it is excruciating to watch. I got almost to the end, and just stopped. The script is so improbable. A distinguished African American judge, so respected he is up for a SCOTUS nomination, and he sacrifices it for an old pal who is some kind of war criminal who runs ops as a mercenary and that is believable? Also, this is a thriving African American very upper upper middle class American family. How they are depicted is appalling, to the point of racism. The show is terribly gloomy, how it is filmed, the idiocy of the judge who listens to no one and persists in behaviors that make no sense. I hated this show, but watched for Forest Whitaker and because I thought it would be good. Again, I am sad for everyone who was dragged into this project.

Tonight I watched 3000 Years of Longing for the second time. Wow! This film is a masterpiece. Just my opinion. Let's face it, Idris Elba is a more fascinating actor than we realize. And with Tilda Swinton as his partner the unusual story soars. The message is clear, myth, legend, Soul, what it is to be a human being in this mysterious thing we call "the World", filled with all these archetypes, is a mystery full of all the great impetuses. Love, ambition, fear, hate, longing, peace, chaos. If you have a poet's soul you will love this film.

This is a fun movie. I just watched it on British TV as a rerun for the 2nd time. I am perplexed by the other review comments. Obviously this is not some blockbuster like a James Bond or Mission Impossible, full of violence, fighting or exploding everythings, everywhere. It is quite kitsch, actually, including the way the actors play their roles. Apparently the Yanks had something to do with it, and that may have been the problem, if problem there was. They don't get the British upper classes stuff at all, and the depiction was a bit stereotypical. But really enjoyable as light entertainment. A bit like a Hallmark Movie Mystery thing. I hope they make a bunch of sequels, and hear they might. Why do people come on these platforms to tear a film down that doesn't hurt anyone? Why watch a light-hearted family entertainment film like this one, if it is not your cup of tea? Were the other reviewers just bots? Or trolls? One wonders...

This is a really great show. Get to see Alaska, endearing cast, and great issues of the day. What I love the most is the in-depth coverage of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women. Finally after all these decades we are paying attention to the women who are the most abused in America, Native American women, who disappear from sex trafficking, Domestic Abuse, and rape/murders at a much higher rate than any demographic in the USA!!! The police do nothing, the cases are swept under the rug, year after years, it is open season on the women and girls, yes GIRLS! So this show addresses some of this stuff, but is really entertaining too. I hope it gets at least a 2nd season.

This is a spectacularly sensitive and complex series. At first I was sure about it by now, having watched the final episode I would say it is spectacular, Really. The cast, the dénouement, the character development, everything. Well done Fleischman is in Trouble!

I love "So Help Me Todd"! One of the most fun and refreshing shows on TV right now. How many shows about vampires, serial killers, et al can we take in? Enough! Sometimes I need to relax and watch something fun, but without the stupidity and low brow humor of many "comedies" on TV right now. If TV is going through a kind of Golden Era right now, and I think that is undisputable, it would be more for drama. I want human interest, family dynamics, showing the humorous side of life in a witty way. I love this show because Marcia Gay Harden is such a great protagonist as her character, this wonderful lawyer with a heart, and I like shows about older women that are not completely stereotyped. She is not conniving or malicious, she is not raunchy or tacky. She is elegant, caring, clever as hell, and her relationship with her kids is hilarious and also very believable. There better be a second season, and many more, this show is a keeper. How Rotten Tomatoes can give it a 50% fresh is beyond me, and I respect that site, but their citics do not always get things right.

Wonderful series, I hope it keeps getting renewed. A keeper!

It's a show for kids, so the plot is a bit silly sometimes, and the dialogue. But it is quite a charming and unusual little show, pretty imaginative. I like the cast and sets. It's a fun summer show to watch with the kids, maybe from 8 or 9 on.

One of the best shows on TV! Charming, quirky, original, and with a wonderful cast, including the iconic Malcolm McDowell playing the... get this...grandfather! The character development is pretty well done and over season one, I, the viewer, grew to care for the characters, even though situations are often satirical. They are ironic, satirical, and fun is poked at the family dynamic, growing up, Catholic School education, Canada. But there is a real vein of gold in the storyline too. Season two starts off marvelously, I love this show!
