Shelagh Roberts

I loved this film. I've never written a review before, but I just had to say how beautifully scripted, acted and photographed I thought it was. The young boy, Buddy, played by Jude Hill was exceptional - never over-sentimental and always believable. What a talent! I often visited family in NI as a child (in the 50s and early 60s) so it resonates with me personally and brought back strong emotions. I don't think it's exaggerating to say that Branagh has created an authentic masterpiece, based on his own experience.
