A powerful script and mesmerizing acting make the movie “Mass” a must see for fans of present-day drama. The 4 person ensemble delivers a superlative interpretation of a very difficult and relevant tragedy. You will not be disappointed if you are a fan of sculpted storytelling and raw emotion. The limited use of background music forces the moviegoer to pay more attention to the painful and searing chords in the dialogue.
There are some irritating moments of supporting characters over emphasizing their awkwardness before and after the cathartic show down. Yet they are quickly forgotten. Also, the Writer/Director could be accused of going 10 minutes too long until a wrenching moment at the end which nicely sets up the much needed apotheosis. Well done.
