A powerful, poignant, authentic movie, about a little known resistance story in WW2, without the Hollywood hype and over-sensationalism. At heart, it speaks to the indescribable bestiality (yes, bestiality) of the German Nazi occupiers of the Netherlands and those locals who shamefully collaborated with them, while, highlighting those Dutch citizens who, at daily risk to their lives, displayed extraordinary courage and ingenuity. Some, like the lead figure in the film, paid the ultimate price. Well worth watching, though, be prepared, not always easy.
