As a person who has read the book, the movie Angels & Demons was highly disappointing. For one, the involvement of CERN, the scientific research center, was so small that its name was stated in only one line. Professor Maximilian Kohler was cut out of the movie entirely, and so was Cardinal Mortati, who was replaced with a mediocre Cardinal Strauss. It was displeasing to see that the connection between Vittoria and her father was also nonexistent because he wasn't a character in the movie altogether. I disliked the interpretation of Olivetti's personality to be understanding and overall 'nice' to Langdon whereas in the novel, he was harsh and annoying. There was less dialogue leading up to the moments of action which made things seem rushed and sloppy. The caremenlengo's personality was calm throughout the entire film! I liked how absurd and frightening he was in the book because it defined who he was and his insanity. I understand that the movies are never like the books but this time it was like if someone told you about the book and you had to interpret it into a movie. I am not going to list everything I found discouraging about the movie, but I will say this:
If you read the book, DON'T WATCH THE MOVIE!!!
