Honestly, this whole album has changed me as a person and has inspired me so much. In general, the band has not only motivated me to pursue and continue my music career, but also act much more silly and less stern or serious all the time.
I have been an unmotivated musician for a while and have barely found anything that has peaked my interest, or has even enlightened me to continue. For years, I felt forced to play the things I usually loved because of how much energy would be drained from me, and would suffer from a lack of interest because of it. Sure, I would listen to bands like My Chemical Romance, Lemon Demon, and other more alternative artists, but nothing really got me interested in what I was most passionate about; music.
I loved the songs from all those artists, but nothing ever gave me more hope than Tally Hall.
The album begins with an upbeat, light opening with simple words that welcome you. Though the meaning of the song "Good Day" is a rather simple one, (being how people should take things less seriously and simply used as an intro), the instrumentals and nice, smooth vocals help carry the song to its peak of glory and entertain the listener from the other side. Of course, other songs follow the upbeat, major scales that are presented, but each song has its own tone, meaning, and rhythmical values that make them different. The diversity of each song makes the whole album a mixed bag to listen to, but continues to be catchy and interesting the more you simultaneously listen to them.
Course, I could go in depth about the rest of the album and how much it has impacted my life, but it wasn't just this specific album that influenced me. Most of Tally Hall's catalogue has impacted and inspired me, but this was the first album of theirs I listened to and continued to enjoy as time goes on. This album gave me an emotional experience that not even other bands have given me, and I have cried or was on the verge of tears because of this album in particular.
Thank you for making this album.
