Too good movie. After a long time I felt so happy to watch a movie. It brought a constant smile throughout by looking at Chamkila's journey and left me sad at the end. Felt in love with the character, his approach of dealing the issues he faced. Movie has so much feelings that is not there in movies these days. Diljit is superb in whatever he does. I am a fan of his acting since I watched his first punjabi movie 'Jinhe Mera Dil lutteya' and he is brilliant in this movie. At places, I felt he took some inspiration from Rockstar scenes. But he really played his role to perfection. I also enjoyed the songs. One has to know some punjabi to understand the songs, those are some mischievous lyrics and the translations won't give you the laugh, understanding them will do. Loved right from the start till the end. Will watch again some day.

I've never been more crazy for a movie than I was for Rockstar. Right from the day the trailer I saw the trailer, I started counting the days left for its release. The music caught the attention immediately. Even a glimpse of Mohit Chauhan's voice in the trailer spiked the emotions. Don't think I have watched any movie more than Rockstar. Now it feels a little slow, but that's because of the shortened attention span. But 10_12 years ago, the movie rocked in every sense. The music was something which was never heard of before. There is not even a single song which is less than the other song in the album. It is difficult to imagine how can one movie has so many brilliant songs. Ranbir has been the best actor among his peers for a long time now. He was damn good in this one too. Would watch this one again some day to revive those days. A movie NOT to be missed at any cost.

Watch if for Emraan. He is superb in this movie. In fact he has been good in most of his movies. Just that back then his Casanova image didn't go well with most of the audience and his Movies were rejected despite of good stories, acting and MUSIC. The very same reason why KK didn't get the level of recognition he deserved. He was THE BEST singer without a doubt (along with Sonu Nigam) during that period, but he gave lots of hits with actors like Emraan and John who were not revered like SRK or other big budget actors. Those days the movies were far better than what are released now. And This movie is brilliant.

This was my fav musical movie when it was released. Was crazy for its songs especially Ya Ali. All songs are beautiful, needless to mention 'Tu hi meri' sung by my all time fav singer KK. I remember waiting to watch this movie desperately without letting my parents know- credit to Emraan's image. And when it was released, I was happy watching it on a rented CD. Some movies can't be forgotten and this one is such an unforgettable movie for me. Don't know if the guys these days would like such a movie as it is not a very fast paced movie, but it is truly a beautiful musical experience.
