The historical depictions, clothing, scenery, warfare all come across as authentic. Characters are relatable and have depth. Short comings include an America-centric bias of the air campaign and little regard for other nationalities, overrating of the P51 and completely ignoring aircraft such as M460. Some episodes feature important aspects of WWII such as the Holocaust and African-American flyers, but these feel like additions for the sake of ethical/social necessity rather than furthering the story of the 100. Sadly, including these important events make the whole story line lose focus and the ending feel anticlimactic for me.
