Hi Bondi Rescue Producers
Just finished watching Series 15 New Year Days episode . To say I was insulted & shocked would be an understatement.
A girl is discovered both unconscious/ unresponsive. I esp like the lifeguard who attended ( my ideal of a good & true Australian).
But the backdrop typifyed what I.think of ad the INSANE unsafe environment of Bondi .
Why are there not patrols of trained First Responders on that beach/ promenade on Holiday Days/ Weekends at a barest
minimum? 30k crowds = a football match.
In Ireland we would have a no of standby ambulances ( oft Red Cross/ John's etc ) defibs dotted here/ there . Plus where are your macho police ? They have to be invariably "summoned " & are no where near even.the walking areas much less the beach.
Patrolling regularly seems to be unheard of!!
Macho posing male ( what if a woman needs assistance?) lifeguards are all that stand between your public/ visitors & disaster!
On this near death incident your arrogant lifeguard assessed the Medical Qualifications of Irelands finest UNIVERSITIES( nowadays no longer " merely " nursing schools". Then he dispensed with the either the need for a Breathalyser & decided they were drunk on his nose sensor. THEY most definitely were sober & competent to my publicans assessment.
Irish doctors / nurses crowd YOUR hospitals having been recruited by hordes of your medical recruiting teams
Historically our Medics tended your wounded @ Suvla / Sudelbar. I doubt if some of them/ their Anzac compatriots were always sober " While the Band played Walzing Matilda" in those he'll holes.
Waverly Council & you fab ( & you are!!) Prog
Makers should be ashamed.of yourselves leaving Bondi public to be policed &/or assisted by pure lifeguards.
Love Australia/ Australians to bits but how dare he malign/ dismiss his far betters.
Sincerely
Martin Lynch
