I watched the original cartoon one the day before I watched the live action one, and yes they were similar but still left some bits and pieces out, normally it doesn’t matter but come on this movie really is a classic you can’t do that to classics 😭 and this whole Beyoncé thing 🙄🙄 I love Beyoncé and all but they should’ve chosen another actress for Nala I feel like it didn’t synchronize as well as it could’ve (if that makes sense) and I get it was supposed to be more so as how lions really are but I feel like they could’ve given Simba more emotion , for example in the cartoon movie after his dad saves him and Nala from the hyenas and they are home , Mufasa says he has to teach his son a lesson and he crouched down in the live action nothing not even his ears moving down as sign of fear, nothing but just a blank stare Yes i understand they can’t make Simba go cry a river (which isn’t something I’m asking ) but just a little more show of emotion overall It was a good movie , to each its own
