Totally unrealistic. It’s like the writers confused Mexican law enforcement corruption with US law enforcement, and the whole ultra tracking, cartel boogeymen lurking around every corner was silly and killing the dog was the last straw. Don’t encourage future psychopaths with showing that kind of violence on animals. I like Liam Neeson but this one fizzles and even he can’t manage to prop it up. The cartoonish cartel thugs didn’t help either.

If doom metal transformed into a film this would be it. Haunting, cerebral and utterly visceral it’s a must see for anyone who loves unique films. Michael Shannon is always a reliable quality but this is his best film yet.
