The beginning was good—probably the only thing that was remotely accurate. The casting could have been better to be honest, and we’re missing a lot of the fan favorite characters like Kitana, Jade, Johnny Cage...etc. I hate how they created a completely new character, didn’t divulge any background info, and that was it. He was really bland character, truthfully unnecessary. They focused too much of Scorpion and Sub-Zero’s feud-which they never explained why Lin Kuei attacked his family—and completely ignored the whole concept of Mortal Kombat being held to protect Earth-realm—instead they focused on this stupid idea of this arcana bs, which literally made no sense. The whole movie seem to revolve around scorpion’s bloodline reuniting earth’s heroes, but that makes no sense as well. It’s called Mortal Kombat for a reason, but no Mortal Kombat actually took place. As a fan of the games, this was a real let down. I expected something great since we were now in 2021, and the graphics were better, but to my surprise the really corny, bad acting versions from the 90s are much truer and entertaining to MK.
