This is a very enjoyable movie. The acting was top notch. The characters were relatable. The story may be familiar and a little predictable. It covers the topics of aging, loneliness, friendships and loss. The reviewers who gave it 1 star are overthinking the story and way too critical. Just immerse yourself in the story and enjoy this sweet and heartwarming movie.

The acting was impeccable. I thought the movie itself was just ok. Because it was based on a true story, it made it more poignant and difficult to watch. What ruined the movie for me was that I didn't like Amy Adam's character. I understand how family was the most important thing to the family but those around the mother were all enablers. I'm glad she ended up getting clean for 6 years. A family can help a person only so much through their drug abuse but the mother didn't seem to want help. I realize that is how a drug addict responds to help, but this woman was willing to take everyone down with her.

This show hasn't been in production for a long time. Everytime I see the houses Roger has to updste, I can't help but think what total slobs the homeowners are. Everything is so old, dirty and messy. Roger comes in and tries to do what he can to make the home look presentable on a very tiny budget. It's fun to watch and hear all the comments made by perspective buyers.

Don't usually enjoy violent movies but this movie was so well acted and mesmerizing to watch that you hang on every word in every scene. The transformation of Mr. Phoenix as he starts out as a man against the world to a man empowered once he begins his killing spree is just fascinating. Everything about this movie, although dark and depressing, was so well done, including the soundtrack. Well worth seeing.

Just go for the singing. It's an odd movie, and strictly a musical and hard to follow if you know nothing about the plot. Very little dialogue. The movie follows the Broadway show with a little updating. I didn't hate it after I settled in and realized what the next 2 hours would hold.
