I really enjoyed this film. Yes it a lot like Christmas Story and it calls back to familiar troupes of other Christmas movies. But I watch Christmas movies for the familiar and feel-good nature. I didn't expect this movie to be groundbreaking or something wildly new. If you have those expectations, you probably wont' like it. The movie is surprisingly heartfelt as well. I could see myself adding this movie to my roster of Christmas movies I watch year after year.

This novel follows the story of a group of children as they cope with suddenly being invisible to the world. The Twilight Zone type/dreamlike storytelling adds to the suspense as you navigate this new reality with the children. Each child is provided a wealth of character building as you become more and more invested in their journeys. The novel doesn't hold back as it isn't afraid to show the darker side of human struggle which provides the opportunity for the characters to show grit in their perseverance. If you like suspenseful stories with a hint of mystery, that pulls you in and make it hard to put down, I highly recommend "To Hover Over Waters".
