Cormac McCarthy’s post-apocalyptic novel is by far one of his best books. The Road is story about a journey of a father and his son. It imagines the future where no hope remains. It is an exciting and thrilling book that manages to keep the reader on edge. I'd give this book 4 stars because of how well written and entertaining it was. The only bad thing I would have to say about it is how vague some of the details can be. For instance in the book the man and his son’s names are not mentioned throughout the whole book. Another example would be about how the book never mentions what happened to America or the world. It describes the landscape in great detail however, it fails to specify what caused the annihilation of the world. Some might argue however, that these details make the book all the more interesting so its up to you to decide.
