It seems popular to denigrate this movie, but I don't know what people expected "The Rise of Skywalker" to be. To me, it was a fun time! I felt no compunction to be "outraged" because it did not somehow meet somebody's concept of how it should have gone. Let's be honest, this is a "space opera" movie, not some ultra-realistic sci-fi, nor some somber philosophical dissertation on the human condition. And IRL, events often don't go as planned. This movie had a ton of action and fun (in a good way) "fan service"! Although, there are some scenes that may be a bit jarring to young children- especially those of a more sensitive disposition. I enjoyed the hell out of this movie.
