Everything seems perfect except two things: the 3.5 hour running time and the less-than-convincing de-aging trickery.

You must be lucky to come across a movie that good every other year. Immaculately directed, tautly scripted, well-acted, and pleasantly and credibly shocking, Parasite has a lot of plot twists in store. The overly familiar narrative of haves and have-nots pitted against each other has never been dramatized so impeccably. Its genre blending, with comedy seamlessly seguing into tragedy, horror, social commentary and slasher is icing on the cake. The beautifully crafted story more than compensates for the possible inconvenience of the subtitle for the English-speaking viewer. Strongly recommended!

It's an extremely silly movie with silly characters and a corny theme, which capitalizes on the universal hatred of the Islamic State. I had never watched such a disgusting and gross movie for such a long time.

It shows how a director can mature over the years and stay in touch even at such an advanced age. Lumet is at his best and makes a movie that draws the viewer into the maelstrom that the characters have unwittingly got themselves in. It is worth watching it every few years.
