I took this book camping while in Wyoming. As I was reading, we would pass the names and places of events that happened according to the book. It made history literally come alive. We stayed the first day in Boulder, Wyoming at a campground underneath a dark night sky. This is very close to South Pass, and we passed the Little Sandy, and saw wagon ruts on the Oregon Trail. I literally felt like I was there with the pioneers! My last day I was in Casper, Wyoming, sitting on a covered porch watching the North Platte River flow lazily by. I turned the page, and there was a drawing with the title "Pioneers crossing the Platte." I ended with a trip to Edness Kimball Wilkins State Park outside of Casper, and there, within site of the river, was a broken down wagon and a rusty old iron stove. Thank you Will Bagley, for making history come alive - literally!
