This is an enjoyable movie for all the family. A modern day fairytale about the power of a love between a mother and her son, the stories she tells him to cope with hidden trauma growing up and coming to terms with heartache along the way. Beautifully directed with stunning scenery and cinematography. Get away from the stress of life and relive your own childhood in this modern day classic.

I found it a difficult watch at times especially at the start where some of the acting from outside the two main characters was terrible and some of the scenes were painfully directed to the point you would wonder how they made it passed editing. This mostly involved the younger members of the cast and the actor playing Anne Hataways ex husband. Some of the scenes were so cliche, predictable and just plain boring. "Are ye sisters? My mom doesn't look like that!" Girl doesn't remember her name when meeting band members! Etc etc... You'll know when you see it! Just terrible directing. Two main leads are excellent and hold the movie together to a certain extent but other than that it's just an okay movie.

Really enjoyed it. Good cast, good performances and some excellent music thrown in.

Season 1 was okay and moderately entertaining but season 2 is very poor. Plot lines are so incredibly predictable and frustrating, science fiction effects are non existent and at times its just so boring and slow! Plenty of the cast are good actors but this show is taking a nosedive off a cliff!

I found this difficult to watch at times with the acting, plot lines and directing very amateurish. I watched it because I loved what was for me, the original version in 1985 and found this one to be a pale comparison. Some of the acting is really atrocious and this version also veers away from the original to bring in stories and themes that don't exist in the books. When I start something I like to finish it but I have found myself skipping very large sections of episodes, especially involving some actors and scenes that are literally painful to watch. I will finish it soon but it is no loss that it was cancelled after three seasons. It is, in my opinion, the kind of show that could do more damage to those involved going forward in their careers than good!
