As far as acting, I give it a 10 for the two principal characters--they did a great job keeping a subtle yet passionate tension between each other. Now regarding the story. I liked certain aspects of the film, but not all... For starters, what's with Charlotte (who is a rape victim herself) doubling down on a rape victim (Lizzy) by tricking her into cutting her own hand?! Surely that was not the ONLY way she could save her. Their "pillow talk" was a perfect set up for her to confide in Lizzy and open up about what she endured at the hands of their mentor.... But inside we get.. "drug her and get her to butcher her hand so she can understand that he is a bad man" Why was that necessary? Charlotte could have just aimed directly at the source, won him over again with her talent to get back in his circle, drugged him and his ilk then proceeded with whatever torture her vengeful heart desired (all without involving Lizzy to be the sacrificial lamb) How does one sympathize with Charlotte when she is using the very same "it's for your own good" skewed logic to justify her machiavelian plan towards an innocent victim??
