Just beautiful.
Cinema wasnt supposed to be "happy" it should be real. And this movie connected to a level that was both sympathetic yet unknown- a descent into madness. And the society didnt help either.
Storyline is flawless. Storytelling is succint and gives not all but enough. Acting of Joaquin Phoenix is apt and his conflicted laugh really gets me. Photography and lighting is edgy, grungy yet pop-py reminds me of a painter who paints gruesome scenes with happy colors.
Cinema isn't also supposed to tell lessons or reinforce morals, it's to show what is happening and challenges us to think. What do we do next?
