Absolute mess. Congrats Netflix for becoming the Butcher of the Witcher story line, characters and atmosphere.
First of all we see an evidence of a poor production budget. Remember in the 90's there was a TV series called "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys"? That's very similar to what Netflix's The Witcher looks and feels like with just few modern enhancements and simply more blood and gore added. We get cheap looking battle scenes, armor and props.
A complete storyline mess. The screenwriters galloped through the tales pulling key occurrences from the actual Witcher stories, mashing them together into one big mishmash. The viewer unfamiliar with the books would be completely clueless as to what is happening and why. But what’s worse than anything, is that the screenwriters for some reason decided that they are on Sapkowski’s level when it comes to creating great stories. They threw out tons of really brilliant twists of the actual books and created their own “genius” stories, which don’t make any sense at all.
I could go on for hours, but the bottom line is, to whoever calls this an "answer to the Game of Thrones" I say this - Netflix's The Witcher doesn't even come close in any aspect. It’s a Marvel comic made out of the Witcher books. HBO - please make a proper Witcher later!!
