Just such a brilliant film with some of the greatest actors. A worthy watch that certainly provides a snapshot in time of the old English Establishment. You will not be disappointed especially if you appreciate British period stories

Can't get any better than this kind of sci-fi horror. Better acting and story at a time when acting, location and props had to be worked in such a way to make things more believable instead of relying heavily on CGI. This movie (this franchise) is truly brilliant. Especially the earlier series were ultimately scary

This movie is absolutely wonderful, sophisticated in its own way, full of adventure and action and may I say despite some negative character in the movie it was refreshingly happy and positive. Certainly, a movie for a more appreciative audience. You will love and forget about the poo poo types

OMG never expected that. AAAAAAAAAAH! Um YA. Never worked through a story quite like this one. Totally hit me like a brick, so good, need I say more

Great action movie certainly worthy of 5 stars but it failed somewhat in how the story evolved where the betrayed became the enemy paying the ultimate price. This left me completely unsatisfied with the conclusion. I was hoping throughout the movie that the main 'hero' would at least discover the injustice and make better decisions accordingly. Instead, I just wanted to slap him . . . a lot. Self-rightious brat, I thought

The acting, excellent. The story riveting but, but, but I had serious issues with the level of the utter moronic stupidity decisions the Locke family made over and over and ooooooover again. It was so . . . . difficult each time to watch each member literally sabotage everything they did to the point where I felt they deserved all the bad things that happened to them. 5 stars is for the excellent acting and location; one star for the writers who lacked the creativity to come up with a better way to make the story work other than infusing it with idiotic decision making. Honestly, it was kind of like staying in this beautiful home, its surroundings and with magic, and all of it managed by a team of mental patients seriously short on therapy sessions.

A dystopian story steeped in stupidity. I gave it two stars because some of the acting was quite good, just the story and writing really, really sucked. I could not help but think how the characters deserved the scorched mad max world they were now living given from the beginning all the decisions were filled with mystic religious undertones which when followed proved their undoing. It seems the producers had some money and decided to make a movie that showcased an indoctrinated biblical and narrow mindset not so different than the Zealots who were a political movement in 1st-century Second Temple Judaism which sought to incite the people of Judea Province to rebel against the Roman empire only this was done in a somewhat unstructured reversed format targeting weakened surviving populace who if unable to conform to this organization's expectations would die kind of horribly, humph! Speeding up the movie had it finish within my tolerances and to be honest I didn't miss a thing as there was a lot of creeping around from those trying to kill each other.
