Me, personally, am a HUGE fan of this book. It's a beatiful mix of the character development of King William I, and the romance between him and the peasant. It was an amazing way to show taxing, and how fun it can sometimes be. It's not all money, it can be a representation of bigger things too. Overall, I find that for the 11th century, this is truly a masterpiece.
The only thing I'd change is the fact that the book barely talks about the lungs (except for the bit where King William I takes someones lungs out and throws them in a lake, a classic part) as I'd very much like to eat one.
I recommend this to anyone who likes romance, thrillers, or just the series heartstopper in general.
Thank you for your time.
