I’ve never written a movie review before, but Good Luck to You, Leo Grande was so awesome I felt motivated to tell others to watch this movie.
The chemistry between Emma Thompson and Daryl McCormack is perfect. They are masters of their field. Nancy skilfully reveals her inner voice in a way that I think all people can relate, and Leo humanises the concept “sex worker” in a legitimate way. He’s utterly likeable and just an all round “good egg”.
Ultimately, I found this movie deeply truthful and moving (I laughed and I cried), and seeing Nancy (and Emma Thomson) reveal herself at the end felt utterly empowering!
I cannot recommend this enough. Watch it, and get others to watch it… it’ll feed the soul.
