In Ac open world rpg trilogy, i have played Valhalla and origins. Never played odyssey and not even thinking to consider due poor rating and inaccuracy in historical facts.
But this is more about origins. I would say this game is true genius and Ubisoft did justice to it while lunching it as entry to their new RPG open world.
What makes origins much superior to Valhalla is story line and how it is delivered, bgm, order of ancient ladder, phylakes (high level solider) and discovering tombs.
Bayak of sewa (protagonist) is a great character and i was able to connect with him as his cause was genuine and i can understand that he mourns for his son and seeks revenge with the people who were the cause and thats how assassins originated.
Could not say same for Evior in Valhalla since after completing story line more than 30%, i could only see that we are trying to form alliance and none of side character have any real emotions. The order of ancient ladder is just secondary in this game.
When we just talk of combat valhalla is much superior and it has some really good skill sets. I remember i was able to defeat zelots (high level solider) 250 level with just 70xp level. I left the game in btw due to poor story line but playing/completing origins has made me reconsider my decision to revisit and complete where i left off.
When we strictly talk about content valhalla has so much to offer, i never encountered a single instance where i felt like i was running out of mission variation and variety.
I wanted to wright so much about both games but then as this review is posted under AC origins therefore the main question is whether you should play it or pass. I would say definitely play it and if someone gives you option to play one out of their 3 open world instalments i would say go ahead and choose origins as this is one of the best assassin creed games. Many people found it disappointing due to so much change from original assassins gameplay i.e., stealth killing but this was essentially required for Ubisoft since AC was near about to die due to poor sales of its prequels and fan base getting disappointed due to lack of creativity and bug issues.
I say, go ahead and give it shot and i assure you that you won’t feel dissatisfied at all.
Be aware that you need to understand that this is the story where creed is made or in progress and you will see lot of hard combat rather than stealth approach. So you need to keep your mind acceptable for the changes.
