*spoilers*
The movie was overall cringey. In the intro I actually felt sick but I forced myself to watch it. The fact that one of the girls says that her parents call boy band music "stripper music" is very inappropriate. Also that Mei refers to her drawings as "sexy" is just plain weird. She keeps on repeating the fact that going to a concert is a step to "womanhood" when she's literally only 13. She says at the end of the movie "my Panda, my choice" which also refers to "my body, my choice" depending on how you look at it. There is a lot of adult humour that Disney Pixar managed to slip in. I'm disappointed in this "film". I would not recommend to anyone under 13. There is also a scene where she cat calls boys from the school bench and agrees to basically sell her body to go to a concert that she was told by her parents that she couldn't go. She repeatedly lies to her parents and sneaks out of the house. It also shows that the people she loves most in the world are her friends instead of her parents who sacrificed so much for her and this is how she repays them. What happened to Pixar? I am appauled by the positive reviews. Mei also for 2 mins straight starts twerking at her mother and screamed I like to gyrate. It is also creepy when she draws pictures of a 17 year old boy with her by "accident" and then continues drawing them, only to get publicly embarrassed by her mother. Mei iis very unrelatable and weird. Abby and Priya are practically non existent. Her dad is a silent character. This film basically teaches kids that friends are more important tha nfamily and that when you are 13, you are a "woman". God bless you all today and forever 🥰😊☺️
