Being from rural Kansas & hearing similar stories of settlers going mad, I found this to be intriguing. A bit difficult to follow at times & perhaps a little drawn out @ times I still enjoyed it. After all, insanity and isolation are difficult to follow and drawn out as well.
I also have personal experience of the non stop KS wind blowing though wheat fields rattling every board and shingle, causing power to flicker and after a prolonged amount of time... it does indeed begin to whisper. You begin to believe your home is haunted or you’re losing your mind. In a rural home w your closest neighbor miles away, you slowly begin to feel isolated from the world. It makes the whispering wind that much louder.
The countryside and sound of wind that once brought you peace... can no longer be silenced. You do all you can to block it out. You hear it in the shower... sleep is impossible. Insomnia starts to make you see and hear things that may or may not be there. You don’t know what’s going on. Like most of this movie. 😂 So yes, this movie was relatively on point.
