Still one of my favorite movies made by Scorsese even in 2021, it’s a great story with multiple psychological twists as it slowly builds towards the conclusion. It’s delivery is impactful and every detail matters especially with the themes of fire vs water, and how the primary protagonist is both seeking the truth but running away from his own. I’ve probably watched it 6 times over the span of 10 years and there are still new details the I find after each rewatch. It’s great how it displays a person’s potential to run from the reality of their situation and only accepting the things they want to be real.
