Eventually the sheer weight of all these despicable, conniving, dishonest characters makes me feel crappy about the world. Not what I want from my diversion streaming.

The characters of the two wome (& the men) were so indistinguishable that I had a hard time keeping them straight.
The dialogue and “oh I love him but I’m hurt but I love him too” were sophomoric and trite.
Her justifications for falling for man after man were weak & tiresome—something an immature high school student would say.
No depth in characters, plot or dialog. This is her life poorly disguised.

This director told everyone that Southern speech means painfully, unrealistically s-l-o-w-l-y. That alone put such a burden on the content that it never lived. This is a white man’s story from the last century. It is not relevant today.
